Welcome to the Black Parade - Piano Tutorial with Letter Notes (2024)

In this image you can see the different keys on a piano keyboard, along with their notes (C, D, E, F, G, A, B).

If you focus on the groups of black keys, you’ll see that they operate in groups of two or three. These groups make it easy to find your way around the keyboard.

To find any note, all you need to do is find the C (since an octave – a group of notes from C to B – always begins with a C). Each C is located on the white key to the left of a group of black keys. Once you’ve found a C, you can easily locate a B, a G, a D, etc.

We advise you to practice finding each note on a piano keyboard. Once you know them by heart, it will be much easier for you to follow this tutorial on learning Welcome to the Black Parade on the piano.

Once you’re familiar with the notes played with the right hand, you’ll be able to consider that you’ve acquired the melody part.

You won’t learn it in 5 minutes, and it’s normal to have to spend some time on it, so don’t be discouraged 🙂 . Just practice sequence by sequence, so that your playing becomes more and more fluent. With patience and motivation, you’ll see that you’ll master the various sequences very easily.

Mastering the art of playing with both hands is an inescapable challenge for any beginner pianist. It’s important to keep calm and remember that it’s perfectly normal not to be able to do it right from the start.

Don’t think badly of yourself. You don’t suck. It’s perfectly natural to encounter difficulties in taking this step, but once you get there, it will be a most gratifying musical experience 😉 .

Start small. Don’t be too ambitious from the start. Setting a goal of playing a song with both hands in 30 minutes will only frustrate you, and that’s not the point. Playing the piano should remain a pleasure.

It may take weeks to learn a new song, but by the end of those weeks, you’ll be able to play your favorite piece to perfection. Our tip: divide the song into short sequences of a few seconds (e.g. 5 to 10 seconds).

Start by playing only the melody for these few seconds, repeatedly. Then play only the accompaniment several times. Finally, when you feel comfortable enough with each hand individually over these few seconds, you can try playing with both hands.

Once you’ve mastered a sequence with both hands, move on to the next sequence, then try playing both sequences in succession when you feel ready. By proceeding in this way, sequence by sequence, you’ll master the song right down to the last note.

Thanks to this progressive approach, you’ll feel the satisfaction of seeing your progress as you go along. As your brain gets used to it, you’ll find it easier and easier.
